Overview of Examinations

There are three compulsory examinations during the SET Program in Neurosurgery:

  • The College Basic Science Examination (Neurosurgery)
  • The College Clinical Examination
  • The College Fellowship Examination in Neurosurgery

The Basic and Clinical Examinations are undertaken during SET1. The Fellowship Examination in Neurosurgery is undertaken during SET6. Full details relating to the examinations can be found on the College website. Trainees can access Fellowship Examination papers in the restricted access section of this website.

The Board has developed a new Regulations Handbook for the SET Program in Neurosurgery. The Regulations Handbook is currently in draft format and will be introduced formally with the commencement of the new SET Program for 2008. Section 8 of the Regulations Handbook relating to examinations can be downloaded below subject to copyright provisions. Section 8 covers the the three examinations mentioned above.
